Inversion postures involve asanas that lift the feet above the head. They can be some of the most rewarding yet intimidating of the asanas. They will turn you upside down and enhance your perspective. Practiced regularly, they can help improve circulation, calm your brain, elevate your mood and lessen the effects of age and gravity on your body. They also help to build core and upper body strength. In this workshop you will safely learn a variety of postures including the handstand, headstand, shoulderstand, and forearm balance. Prior experience with Iyengar Yoga is recommended. Each participant will be encouraged to do the postures at their own level of abilities.
Note: Students with pre-existing shoulder or neck injuries should not attend this workshop. Also, it is not advisable for people with low or high blood pressure to start with headstand or shoulder- stand.
