Balancing postures stabilize and release tension in our feet, ankles, legs hips and core. They are useful every day and particularly in times of stress. They enhance clarity and stability. They help us to gracefully make our way through life. When we are able to stay balanced through chaos, we increase our ability to remain productive, alert and strong. We generally cannot change the world around us but we can change our reaction to it. Balancing postures help us do that by undoing what restricts us and by doing that which enables us. As we age, our balancing abilities naturally diminish. Through the practice of specific yoga postures we can remain strong and stable to enrich our life experience.
